What a difference our LED projects have made for our customers. Take a closer look at some of our lighting projects that have made a huge impact on both lighting quality and energy savings.
Lighting within an apartment building can drastically change the ambiance. Common areas such as the lobby, hallways and laundry facilities take on an entirely different feeling when the lighting is yellow and dim versus bright and cool. At Baldwin Villa Plaza it was important to update all common area lighting to improve visibility, safety and the overall feeling of the space.

Old lighting tends to have a dim, yellow tone which can drag down the energy of a space. That’s why it was so important to update the Westside Jewish Center Apartment building to fresh, clean lighting. The common areas such as the dining hall, lobby and hallways had not been updated in decades. With an LED retrofit the common spaces now have a lighter, brighter and safer feeling making for happy residents.

What are lumens?
A lumen is a unit that measures luminous flux, or the total amount of visible light emitted by a source. The lumen can be thought of as a measure of the total amount of visible light emitted. For example, a standard 100 watt incandescent bulb emits about 1500 lumen.
How much will it cost to do an LED retrofit?
The project cost depends on the size of your building and the resulting energy and maintenance savings. For the majority of our projects, the upfront cost is usually recouped within 2 ½ years.
How long do LEDs last?
LEDs do not suddenly burn out, rather they fade over time. As with any lighting, the useful life depends on operating hours. Quality LED lighting are expected to have a useful life in the range of 30,000 to 50,000 hours. 50,000 hours would imply 5.7 years if the light is operated 24 hours per day.
Is the life of an LED reduced if it is frequently turned on and off?
Unlike discharge lamps, LEDs are semiconductors and their life is not affected by the number of times they are turned on and off.
Are LEDs considered a green technology?
Yes, LEDs are considered a green technology because they use less energy than most other light sources. Additionally, LEDs do not contain hazardous materials such as toxic mercury.
